One of the main reasons why I choose a career path in data was because I love to learn about anything and everything. Having just completed my University degree, I was keen to get straight into the workforce. Joining the team at The Data School was a great opportunity to continue doing something I love and enhance on the skills I previously learnt.
Week 1 of data school involved getting straight into learning about Alteryx, a program that I had never used before. By the end of the week we were already onto learning advanced tools in Alteryx. Finishing off week 1 with our first project, which involved applying our knowledge learnt so far to supplement the data of our interview viz. Not only did this allow me to test my skills, but also gave me a glimpse into what my fellow trainees’ interests were and educated me on topics I knew little about. Having chosen completely different data sets, for example; avocados, tourism and Olympics. Demonstrating how data analyzing is useful in many fields.
