Dashboard week – Day 4 started with interesting data from iNaturalist.

‘iNaturalist’ is an online social network of people sharing biodiversity information to help each other learn about nature.

It’s also crowdsourced species identification system and an organism occurrence recording tool. You can use it to record your own observations, collaborate with others to collect this kind of information for a common purpose, or access the observational data collected by iNaturalist users.

It’s a topic of my personal interest i.e. Wildlife. The data had more than 5million rows across more than 200 countries with 6m photos.

I am glad, we were allowed to use Alteryx which was our savior to clean and make this data for the visualization.

Along with the insights we also agree to leverage the capability of tableau where we can import the pictures into the dashboard by using action – URL.

I have selected South Africa in the below example because its my favorite country to visit wildlife.
