I know this famous speech from Steve Jobs for a long time. For many years, I can’t find a thing that I truly love. But I always remember this sentence: The only way to do great work is to love what you do, if you haven’t found it yet, keep looking, and don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. Fortunately, I finally found it.

In this blog post, I will share my story with data, and how this story leads me to my dream job – the Data School down under.

The story of my love for data began in January 2022 when I was doing some inventory and logistic work in a mechanical workshop. I was tasked with finding ways to make my work more efficient through data mining and analysis. This led me to explore R language, and I was immediately impressed by its unique way of dealing with data and the powerful packages it offers, such as GGplot, which made data visualization vivid and fresh.

The Course I learned for R programming:

My curiosity and eagerness to learn more about data analysis continued to grow. I followed recommendations on Udemy and delved into machine learning using Python and R. I was amazed by how algorithms like regression, classification, and clustering worked and how they could make predictions that could broaden my understanding and perspective of data.

The Course I learned for Machine Learning:

After exploring the power of machine learning, Tableau naturally became my next step. I was intrigued by its ability to provide rich visualizations, which I believed could unlock insights and bring data to life.

In June, I began learning Tableau with the possibility of a career change in mind. I was deeply passionate about data mining, analysis, and visualization and was eager to explore opportunities that would allow me to continue learning and applying my skills in this area.

Fortunately, I was able to attend a job fair where I met a member of the Data School team. Initially, I didn’t expect I’m qualified for any data analytics position because I’m so fresh in data. But I thought I can find someone there to ask what I should learn and prepare for a data analyst. Luckily, I met someone who become my colleague at that career expo. We had a comfortable conversation about the work they were doing and how I could apply to join them. I was deeply touched by the conversation, and I realized that Data School was in the right position in my life to help me pursue my passion for data and make a career change with no hesitation.

In summary, my story of data began with the desire to make my work more efficient, and it led me to explore R language, machine learning, and Tableau. My eagerness and passion for data analysis and visualization made me realize the potential of data in unlocking valuable insights. This realization led me to the Data School, where I hope to continue learning, growing, and applying my skills in the exciting field of data.
