Database:

On Day 2 of Dashboard Week, we were given access to the English Women’s Football database.

This database contains information about teams, the matches they played, the seasons they participated in, the number of goals scored, their win/loss status, their opponents, and whether they played as the home team or not. The dataset was already clean, requiring minimal data cleaning. This report needs to be created in Power BI.

Narrowing the focus:

As someone with limited knowledge of football, I approached the analysis by focusing on football matches and teams. In my understanding, a team that has participated in a large number of matches is likely to be highly skilled and competitive.

Based on this assumption, I identified and ranked the top three teams, referring to them as the “Queens of Football.”

However, when I delved deeper and considered additional metrics, such as the goals-to-seasons ratio, I realized how relying on a single metric could lead to misleading conclusions.

Upon analyzing this ratio, the top three teams changed, and they were no longer the ones I had previously crowned as the “Queens of Football.”
