The challenge today was to scrape data from Playbill.com and create a story using the data scraped as well as any supporting data needed.

My day went surprisingly smooth all things considered, with the exception of formatting my dashboard.

Once we received the challenge at 10:30am I immediately started timeboxing and planning out my day.

Planned 2pm-4pm   Actual 2pm-3:45pm
Create any additional visuals from new data collected.
Build Dashboard create any additional visuals.

Planned 4pm-5pm   Actual 3:45pm-6:30pm
Format visual and write additional insights into dashboard.

Planned 5pm-5:30pm Actual 6:30pm-7pm
Write Blog for Monday’s Challenge

As you can see, I went way over time with my formatting and additional visual building. This was mostly due to me being indecisive when it came to formatting choice and also wanting additional functionality in my dashboard which I managed to add luckily.

Please see below the completed dashboard. I added a measure switch to change the measures in the first two bar charts to add some additional insights and depth. Overall, I’m happy with the dashboard and the insights I managed to interpret from the data. The main area I want to focus on tomorrow is improving the overall aesthetics of my dashboard through formatting and chart choices. No major blockers throughout the day. ready for tomorrow
