Maliha Athar

Hi, I am Maliha from Pakistan. I did my bachelor’s in business administration and then in my masters I pursued Business Analytics. The switch was triggered by a seminar I attended in my bachelors about Big Data which really caught my interest and helped me chose what I want to do further with my career.

This degree wasn’t taught in my home country which made me come to Australia making me the first girl from my family to come study abroad. It is not very common in my culture for girls to study abroad and I am very glad that my parents supported my dream and helped me reach where I am today.

My interests include swimming but that’s an occasional interest because I get sick very easily. However, I am always up for something adventurous like sky diving, scuba diving etc. Next thing on my list of adventures is shark diving. My favorite food is biryani, which is a mixed spice rice dish, but if I had to chose between a salty or a sweet dish; I can live on eating sweets all my life.

My motivation to join DSAU was to build a foundation for my career through the 4 months of training that would give me a glimpse of professional life as well as train me side by side. I have loved visualizing since I was in elementary school as I used to learn and memorize things using flow charts. I am really looking forward to learn and grow professionally while making amazing friends through this training.
