In Sample Superstore:

  1. Put Sum of Sales in the Rows and Count Distinct of Product Name in the Columns.
  2. Put Product Name to Detail (in Mark section).
  3. Right click on SUM(Sales), Quick Table Calculation, choosing Running Total.
  4. Right click on CNTD(Product Name), select Add Table Calculation. Set the Calculation Type on Running Total and Compute Using on Specific Dimension and tick the Product Name. Then tick the Add Secondary calculation. Set the Secondary Calculation Type on Percent of Total and Compute Using on Table (down).
  5. Right click on the SUM(Sales) in Rows and edit Table Calculation. Set the Calculation Type on Running Total and Compute Using on Specific Dimension and tick the Product Name. Then tick the Add Secondary calculation. Set the Secondary Calculation Type on Percent of Total and Compute Using on Table (down).
  6. Right click on the Product Name in Marks section and Sort it by Field with Descending Sort Order based on the Sales Filed Name and Aggregation by Sum.
    Change the Mark Type from Automatic to Line.
    Now, you can see the following beautiful Pareto Chart 🙂
